What Emma Said.
My name is Christina “Steenz” Stewart. I’m 23 and I’m an assistant Manager at Star Clipper. AKA the coolest comic shop in St. Louis if not the WORLD.
I started reading comics right after high school. I had always loved the comics universe, having watched a ton of the DC Animated series from the 90s to early 2000s. So finally stepping into comics was a bit daunting but REALLY excited. I started with Green Lantern and Teen Titans and became very well versed in the DC Universe. Then Star Clipper hosted a trivia competition and my friend and I decided “lets go for it.”. We had not been reading comics for long so we were going up against proper nerds, here. After studying and reading a gazillion comics for 2 months, we ended up winning the competition! We’re very competitive.
A few months later I started working at Star Clipper and the world of comics opened up to me in an AMAZING way. Now I’m reading more Marvel and Image comics than DC! I love working there. I love introducing new readers to diverse heroes, and organizing events to get more people involved in the community of comic book fans.
I host a Ladies Night every year with local creators to show that you can be a woman in comics and do well! Comics University is another event that I host where you can come to the shop every Wednesday night and learn about the comics industry. Whether its about creating comics, or history, mythology, online comics, and even copyright laws. There’s so much to learn about comics and I’m learning more and more every day. It feels good when people recognize that people like me are involved and put a lot of effort into the culture. I do it because I Am Comics!
Well hey there! That’s me! One of the Proud Valkyries representin’.
Once upon a time Matt and Chip made a beautiful cover for the 4th printing of issue #1 of Sex Criminals. This beautiful cover captured the imagination of brimpers everywhere, including myself and my lovely coworker Heather (@girlblunders). The situation has since escalated nicely.
Welcome to Brimpception!
This is beautiful, and I hope that fourth picture becomes a future Sex Criminals cover someday.

The Horse decides to get a closer look into The Navigator’s past that he’s buried deep in his subconsciousness and find out what drives a person to make the right choice, and what propels someone to make the selfish one.
